(KSL News) Rivalry week can bring out the worst in people, even divide a family. But in the case of this morning's High 5, team colors didn't matter.
The Sainsburys in Bountiful may be a house divided by BYU and Utah fans, but they're united in their mom's fight against breast cancer.
Meredith Sainsbury, the mother of the family, is a Utah fan. Her husband Derek and their three children lean towards BYU.
Meredith nominated her eight-year-old son Briant for our High 5. She says he has been a great support to her during her treatments for breast cancer.
Meredith Sainsbury: "Briant's football team went to the championship playoffs. The night before the championship game they had a party and he gave them all a big speech. 'We're here. We won. Our parents have helped us and they've done a good job. My mom's fighting cancer, so let's win it for her.' And they won it! So I wanted to do something for him. Then all his buddies shaved their heads all together and showed up on my door Friday. They looked awesome."
Coco Warner/Eyewitness News: "So what do you think?"
Briant Sainsbury: "It's really cool."
After that, they each pledged their allegiance to their team.
