WASHINGTON, Nov 22, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Despite being guarded by Secret Service agents, U.S. President George Bush's daughter Barbara had her purse stolen at a restaurant in Buenos Aires.

Law enforcement reports seen by ABC News said the theft of the purse containing 24-year-old's cell phone took place on her first night in town while she was dining in the San Telmo neighborhood.

An unidentified law enforcement source told CNN the purse wasn't in the vicinity of Bush and "at no point were the protectees out of visual contact and at no point was there any risk of harm."

The exact date of the theft was not reported, although it reportedly occurred on the first night of a 2-week trip by Barbara and her twin sister Jenna, ABC said.

Neither the Secret Service nor White House would comment, CNN said.
