SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah's attorney general is expected to be honored today by the president of Mexico.
President Vicente Fox will award Attorney General Mark Shurtleff the Order of the Aztec Eagle today in Mexico City. It's the highest award given to a non-Mexican.
Shurtleff is being honored for educating and protecting Utah residents of Mexican descent. Fox says when he visited Utah in July, he was so impressed at how warmly the community received Shurtleff.
In a news release, the attorney general said this was a great honor. He also said he was pleased that President Fox is recognizing our efforts to solve some of the problems facing our citizens and countries.
