SALT LAKE CITY - A goal by Amanda Feigt in the 103rd minute pushed Utah past Idaho State 3-2 in the first round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship on Thursday night at Ute Field.

The win put Utah into the second round for the first time since 2002. Utah will face Portland in the second round here on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Utah, which hasn't lost in the last 13 games, improved to 16-4-1. Idaho State ended its season with a 10-9-1 record.

Just when it appeared Utah's season was over, a foul by Idaho State in the box set up a penalty kick by Katy Reineke with 30 seconds left. She took a left-footed shot from eight yards out that went into the lower left hand corner of the net. That goal tied the game at 2-2 to send it into overtime.

With just under five minutes left in the first overtime it appeared Adele Letro had the game winner on her foot for Utah. She took a hard shot from five yards away that was kept out of the net by Bengal defender Tia Burns.

Utah locked in the victory just over four minutes into the second overtime with a hard shot by Feigt. After the initial shot by Letro was knocked out by the keeper, Melissa Crespo collected the rebound and passed the ball off to Feigt for the game winning shot from 15 yards out.

Utah outshot the Bengals 30-13. Bengal keeper Lindsay Gensler kept her team in the game with 15 saves. Ashley Mason had five saves for Utah.

Feigt had six shots on goal, while Crespo and Letro each had four shots on goal to lead the Utes. Michelle Okumura put three shots on the frame, converting two of those for scores, for Idaho State.

The first goal of the game was set up by a misplay of the Utah defense. In the 32nd minute, Jena Roberts tried to play the ball toward the middle of the field. But it came off her foot wrong on the slick turf and went backward. Okumura alertly collected it and took the shot from 18 yards out in the center field and put the slow roller into the open net.

Utah came out aggressive to start the second half. Feigt dribbled deep into the box and got off a hard five-yard shot that went over the cross bar a couple of minutes in.

Utah then tied it up in the 50th minute. Mason booted the ball 60 yards across the mid-field stripe. Crespo tracked it down and crossed the ball from the right side of the field into the box. Letro fired 10 yard shot past Gensler to make it 1-1.

The Bengals took the lead back in the 67th minute. Mason came out to make a play on the ball on the right side of the box, but didn't come up with it cleanly. Okumura took it away for an open net shot from 15 yards away to give Idaho State a 2-1 edge.

Utah had a chance for the equalizer with just over 10 and a half minutes left in the game. Letro worked the ball ahead to Feigt, who took a 10-yard shot from the left side of the box. Gensler deflected it just right of the frame for the save. The ensuing corner kick came up empty.

The Utes had a corner kick with just under six minutes left. After the ball was headed out initially, Kiley Jones fired a shot from the top of the box that was tipped wide left by Gensler
