SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- More than a dozen soldiers are returning home today after serving a unique role for the Utah National Guard in Iraq.
Fifteen members of the 120th Quartermaster Detachment have been providing water-purification support to coalition forces since August 2005. It's all part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The soldiers drew water from a canal it shared with local farmers. That's according to the National Guard's Web site at www.ut.ngb.army.mil.
The group was stationed at a convoy supper center in Iraq.
