TEL AVIV, Israel, Oct 29, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- An Arab-Israeli woman was indicted Sunday on charges of conspiracy to aid the enemy in time of war for allegedly planning to bomb an Israeli restaurant.
Wurood Kassem was also indicted for "contact with a foreign agent," illegally carrying a weapon and membership in a terrorist organization, Ynet News reported.
The bombing never happened, but before, during and after the July Israel-Lebanon war, Wurood allegedly conspired with her cousin and an alleged Palestinian terrorist to blow up the Spaghettim restaurant in Raanana, a city northeast of Tel Aviv, the indictment said.
The 15-pound bomb she and at least two other militants tried to smuggle into Israel from the West Bank to blow up the restaurant would have been activated by two telephones, the indictment by Prosecutor Or Mamon said.
Wurood's lawyer proclaimed Wurood's innocence, saying she was "a young girl with no criminal past who has a normal lifestyle" and "was duped."
