(KSL News) In honor of Valentine's, here's a story of a high school principal who gave not his heart, but a kidney, to a fellow educator.
Todd Quarnberg knew his colleague had run out of options. Family members weren't a match. He made an offer they both believe was meant to be.
"The decision was easier than you might think. And it's not about me being valiant. The right time and the right moment, and I think Evelyn would tell you the same," Quarnberg said.
Evelynn O'Dell, the kidney recipient, said, "I just started praying, because prayer is a big part of my life, and I never dreamed Todd would be the one to answer that prayer."
They're both recovering well and are friends for life.
