KSL Newsradio's Andrew Adams reportingNew numbers show gas prices in Utah have dropped sharply in the past month, but they're still much higher than the national average.
The AAA reports gas prices in the state have gone down $0.35 in the last month, but Utah still has the nation's seventh-highest gas prices. AAA of Utah spokeswoman Rolayne Fairclough says she's perplexed.
"This is very unusual that we're this much higher than the national average," she said. "So any kind of projections on when we'll meet the national average are very difficult to make, because this whole situation is so unique."
Salt Lakers are currently paying an average of $2.52 a gallon for unleaded regular. The AAA anticipates gas prices will continue to plummet through at least October.
