CAIRO, Jul 05, 2005 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Hundreds of women related to imprisoned members of Egypt's outlawed Muslim Brotherhood Organization demonstrated in Cairo Tuesday to press for their release.

The women, some whom brought their small children along, raised banners reading: "I want my husband back ... Free my father... Freedom for my brother."

Security forces escorted the protesters who gathered outside the office of the public prosecutor to see their relatives who were transferred to the public prosecution building for interrogation.

The Egyptian authorities rounded up some 800 members and partisans of the Muslim Brotherhood last May after the group organized demonstrations in more than 16 Egyptian cities to press for the cancellation of the emergency law and restoration of public freedoms.

Most of the detainees were freed, but 37 leaders are still held, some since April.
