Frankfurt (dpa) - Attendance at the Frankfurt Book Fair, which ended Sunday, rose to 286,621, a gain of 0.6 per cent from one year earlier, according to organizers as the five-day event ended.
A slight decline on the first three days, when the annual fair was open to trade visitors only, was compensated for by a gain on Saturday and Sunday when the world's top exhibition of new books opens to the general public.
The show in the central German city of Frankfurt embraced 7,272 publishers and other exhibitors from 113 nations.
As guest of honour, India won attention with special exhibitions and arts performances.
