NEW YORK, Jun 29, 2005 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- John Patrick Shanley's Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning Broadway play "Doubt, a Parable" has gone into the black just 15 weeks since previews began.
The play -- the New York native's Broadway debut -- has recouped its $2 million investment and began making a profit in mid-June, Variety reported Tuesday.
The play, set in a Roman Catholic school in the Bronx, centers on a nun's suspicions about homosexual activity by a priest.
"Doubt" earned $541,497 last week, just shy of the previous week's take of $544,176 -- a record for the play and the Walter Kerr Theater.
