SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Bryce Canyon National Park wants to add roadside pullouts at one its most popular spots for watching pronghorn, wild turkeys and other wildlife.

For years, visitors near East Creek Meadow have either pulled off the road -- or stopped in the middle of it -- to watch wildlife.

Park officials plan to add five pullouts in the park for wildlife watching, including three along that meadow. They hope the additions will improve safety and reduce damage to roadside vegetation.

The park has issued a notice seeking public comments on how best to develop the pullouts. A final plan is expected this fall. Construction could begin in 2010.
