(KSL News) -- Consumers are not taking advantage of cost reducing coupons. That's according to recent statistics released by the National Coupon Council of the Promotion Marketing Association.

The coupon council says more and more consumers are ignoring coupons and their potential to reduce the cost of items ranging from groceries to electronics.

In fact, coupons are being redeemed at their lowest numbers in two decades.

The report blames the decline on coupon expiration dates as well as an often required purchase of two or more items to be valid.
