Materials for making kit
- 3/4 yard red felt (or any color of your choice)
- 1/4 yard white felt (or any color of your choice)
- Red thread (or matching color)
- 30-36 inch piece of red grosgrain ribbon (or any color of your choice)
- Supplies to put in kit To make Kit
1. Cut one rectangle 22 inches X 9 inches out of red felt
2. Cut one rectangle 22 inches X 5 inches out of red felt
3. Cut one rectangle 22 inches X 7 inches out of white felt
4. Using tailors chalk and small red felt piece. Mark a straight stitching line 8 inches in from each short side of 5 and 7 inch rectangle.
5. Lay the smaller red rectangle on top of the white rectangle, matching bottom and sides. White rectangle should be 2 inches higher than red rectangle.
6. Stitch small red rectangle to white rectangle along stitching line drawn in step 4.
7. Using tailors chalk; mark a straight stitching line 5 inches in from each short side of stitched and 9 inch rectangles.
8. Lay stitched rectangles on top of large red rectangle. Matching bottom and sides. Large rectangle should be 2 inches higher than white rectangle.
9. Stitch through all three layers of fabric on stitching line drawn in step 7.
10. Stitch 1/4 inch from edge around entire large rectangle through all layers of fabric where applicable.
11. Attach ribbon. Fold ribbon in half and mark center. Lay rectangle with wrong side up and mark center of right edge. Attach ribbon by stitching, matching center marks.
Note: To make an extra pocket after step 8 mark a stitching line 11 inches from either edge and stitch through all three layers of fabric.

- Sterile dressings to stop bleeding
- Cleansing agent/soap and antibiotic towelettes
- Antibiotic ointment
- Burn ointment
- Adhesive bandages in a variety of sizes
- Eye wash solution
- Thermometer
- Prescription medications you take every day (insulin, heart medicine, asthma inhalers. Periodically rotate to account for expiration dates)
- Prescribed medical supplies (glucose and blood pressure monitoring, etc.) Other items that may be helpful
- Cell Phone
- Scissors
- Tweezers
- Petroleum jelly
- Aspirin or other pain reliever
- Anti-diarrhea medication
- Antacid
- Laxative
