DETROIT (AP) -- Toyota Motor Co. is recalling 128,316 Camrys because the side air bags may not inflate properly.
The defect has not been blamed for any deaths or injuries, Toyota spokeswoman Julie Alfonso said Monday.
The recall covers cars from model years 2002 to 2004 with optional side air bags. Toyota said improper assembly caused some bags to become twisted -- a defect discovered by a supplier.
Dealers will inspect the air bags for free and replace them if necessary. The automaker will begin notifying customers about the recall next month.
Toyota sold 410,000 Camrys in the United States in 2003.
