(KSL News/AP) Utah's Morgan Warburton scored all of her game-high 19 points in the second half Sunday and erased any hope of an Oregon comeback as the Ducks fell 63-49 at MacArthur Court.
The loss drops Oregon to 3-7 on the season, while Utah improves to 5-6. The Ducks have lost five in a row, and seven of their last eight.
Oregon trailed Utah by 11 at the break, but responded in the second half and had the game even at 47-47 with 6:27 to go after back-to-back three-pointers from freshman Amanda Johnson.
But Warburton, the Preseason Mountain West Conference Player of the Year, stepped up. Utah went on a 16-2 run with 11 of those points from Warburton.
Oregon freshman Jasmin Holliday led the Ducks with 10 points and had six rebounds and six steals.
Oregon opens its Pac-10 Friday at USC and heads to Pauley Pavilion to play UCLA Sunday.
During today's game, Kalee Whipple became Utah's 21st 1,000-point scorer. She scored 14 of her 15 points in the first half and now has 1,003 points for her career.
