MINNEAPOLIS — Coen Carr scored 12 points, Jaxon Kohler had a double-double and Michigan State led most of the way in a 90-72 victory over Minnesota in a Big Ten Conference opener. Carr shot 5 of 8 from the floor and Kohler scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Xavier Booker made three 3s and finished with 11 points for Michigan State, which shot 53% (29 of 55) and made 11 of 22 from long range. Dawson Garcia had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Minnesota (6-4, 0-1). Michigan State (7-2, 1-0) has won five of its last six games.
