WASHINGTON — Brent Burns scored twice and Andrei Svechnikov registered his sixth consecutive multipoint game as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Washington Capitals 6-2. The Hurricanes have won five in a row. Seth Jarvis also scored and former Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov had an empty-net goal. Pyotr Kochetkov made 15 saves for his 11th win of the season. The Capitals allowed five goals in the third period as they lost a second in a row and for the sixth time in seven games.
