(KSL News) -- A member of the US Department of Health and Human Services paid a visit today to Salt Lake. Health experts received words of advice from US Surgeon General Doctor Kenneth Moritsugu.
Moritsugu spoke to crowds this morning at the Healthy Communities Conference at the Marriott. He said preventative medical work is just as important as treatment.
Dr. Kenneth Moritsugu, U.S. Surgeon General: "We need to refocus our efforts not only on healing diseases, but preventing disease, illness and injury."
Dr. Moritsugu also discussed obesity and safety. Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff also spoke at the event.
