MIDVALE — A Lehi woman who police say fled from them on Wednesday once again tried to get away from officers on Thursday night and ended up hitting six vehicles in the process, including three police cars.

Madison Lynne Muse, 28, was arrested for investigation of three counts of assault on a police officer, aggravated assault and failing to stop at the command of officers.

On Thursday, a Unified police officer spotted Muse near 700 East and 7200 South and recognized her as the same person who fled from him the night before. In that case, officers observed Muse involved in what they believed was a drug deal near 7065 S. State, said Unified Police Sgt. Melody Cutler. Police did not chase her at that time.

After spotting Muse on Thursday, an officer in an unmarked patrol vehicle followed her as other officers set up in the area to try and stop her. Police "continued to follow the vehicle to conduct a high-risk stop. Officers observed the vehicle near Cottonwood Street and Colorado Street in a dead end area," according to a police booking affidavit.

But when officers moved in to arrest her, Muse put her car into reverse and hit an unmarked police vehicle, the affidavit states.

During the ensuing chase, Muse sped through a neighborhood, rammed another Unified police vehicle and hit three civilian vehicles, Cutler said. At one point, she drove into another dead end street, turned off her headlights and hit a parked civilian vehicle and one of the pursuing officers, the affidavit says. Muse then allegedly hit a third Unified vehicle before officers forced her off the road and took her into custody.

"Madison made an excited utterance, 'I messed up' as she was taken into custody," according to the affidavit. "Multiple officers stated while attempting to stop Madison, she swerved toward officers in an attempt to injure and evade capture. Her actions were without regard for the safety of bystanders, officers and public property."

Muse was taken to a local hospital to be checked out before being taken to jail. At the hospital, police say she "excitedly uttered, 'I wasn't going to stop,'" the affidavit states.

Police also say that Muse has shown "no remorse for her actions, only caring for the safety of her at-large dog and incarcerated husband."

According to court records, Thursday's incident is the latest in a recent series of crimes that Muse is accused of committing.

On Monday, she was charged in 4th District Court with shoplifting and theft by receiving stolen property. On Jan. 24 she was charged with drug possession and obstructing justice. On Jan. 21 she was charged in Salt Lake Justice Court with possession of drug paraphernalia. And on Jan. 10 she was charged in 3rd District Court with two counts of unlawful possession of a financial card.

Correction: An earlier version incorrectly spelled Muse's name as Nuse.
