CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Carolina Panthers coach John Fox says Steve Smith is making progress but won't speculate if the All-Pro receiver will play Sunday against Tampa Bay.
Smith has missed the Panthers' first two games after straining his right hamstring September fifth. Today Smith did some agility drills and light running on a separate field while his teammates practiced.
The 0-and-2 Panthers have scored only one touchdown and 19 points without Smith, who was the league's top receiver last season.
