THE KITCHEN — I don't know about you, but I can't wait for the food at the Thanksgiving table on Thursday. Everyone in my family knows I'll be reaching for the green bean casserole first.
But if you're as big of a corn fan as Tariq, a boy who has been dubbed "corn kid" by the internet and the "CEO of corn," a corn casserole could make a "corntastic" addition to the table, too — to use one of his corny puns.
This cute boy went viral in a YouTube video a few months ago when he shared his love of and excitement for corn.
"Ever since I was told that corn was real, it tasted good!" he said in the video which has almost 10 million views. "But when I tried it with butter, everything changed. I love corn."
This kid's corn-tagious excitement follows him to the kitchen as he stars in some Green Giant corn ads posted to YouTube ahead of Thanksgiving. His kernel of excitement over just opening a can of corn left me smiling, but his popping over the bowl full of corn is even better.
"Wow, I can't tell how much corn it is. I do know, it's a lot," the kid says.
He isn't content just to look, as he goes to dip his face in for a bite. He realizes he might have gone too far when an adult pulls the bowl away.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's just so good," he says.
If you want a little bit more corniness in your life, you can watch the corn kid make corn casserole or corn Mac and Cheese and see a few more hilarious moments. As the corn kid says, "You can never have too much corn."
