MURRAY — A motorcyclist died in a crash on I-215 South late Saturday, authorities say.
Emergency crews responded to a report of a crash 700 West on the freeway shortly after 10:30 p.m., according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Troopers say that the motorcyclist, whose name and age have not been released, was traveling west when they struck the center median concrete barrier. The motorcyclist continued a "short distance" before coming to a rest in the travel lanes.
Troopers said the driver was transported to the hospital where they later died of their injuries.
Portions of the freeway were closed until about 2 a.m. while the crash was being. investigated. The roads have since reopened. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
