PROVO — How do you go from one rivalry, a long-running in-state feud with an authentic pioneer-era wooden wagon wheel for a trophy, to another in pseudo-rivalry with a fellow religious university and FBS independent in Sin City?

BYU linebacker Max Tooley knows how, and he explains on this week's episode of the Cougar Beat podcast why he's looking forward to the Cougars' bout with Notre Dame in Las Vegas — the Cougars' home away from home that will host the latest edition of the Fighting Irish's Shamrock Series.

"Last year, there were a lot of BYU fans," Tooley recalled of BYU's win over Arizona in the Las Vegas Kickoff Classic. "I was still recovering from an MCL injury, so I didn't play in that game. But seeing the fans and getting to experience that was cool.

"There was a lot of royal in the stands, and I expect it to be that way this year too"

Tooley joins Gabe Jeudy-Lally, Sean Walker and the guys at Coug Connect to break down the Cougars' retention of the Wagon Wheel rivalry trophy against Utah State for the foreseeable future, his feelings on scoring a pick six, and what makes BYU in Las Vegas such a perfect match ahead of Saturday's game against Notre Dame at Allegiant Stadium (4:30 p.m. PT, NBC).
