EMERY, Emery County — All eastbound lanes are closed on I-70 in Emery County about 30 miles east of Fremont Junction, due to a vehicle pileup Friday afternoon.
"As many as seven vehicles (were) involved" in the crash just after 4 p.m., Utah Highway Patrol officials tweeted. "Injuries are reported in this crash and thankfully no one has died."

As of 10:45 p.m. Friday, the road is still closed 41 miles west of Green River and is estimated to be impacted for another seven hours, according to the Utah Department of Transportation traffic website.
I-70 is closed at mp 116 with traffic being diverted. UHP and UDOT are working to clear vehicles stuck in the back up. We are still anticipating another couple hours before we can open a lane.

No further information on the cause of the crash or the severity of the injuries has been released at this time.
