SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities closed a portion of I-215 a second time Wednesday due to a grass fire.
The Utah Highway Patrol has closed southbound I-215 going to state Route 201 because of the fire again affecting the roadway.
Officials estimate the road could reopen by 4:30 p.m.
The Utah Highway Patrol originally closed the roads in the area Wednesday about 10:20 a.m. and reopened it about three hours later, saying crews had the fire under control.
The cause of the fire, which is believed to have started along the state Route 201 on-ramp going west remained under investigation.
The fire has burned along the exterior of a nearby business, but no major damage was reported. Several "pallets of materials" were burned, according to the Salt Lake City Fire Department. There were no reports of injuries.
