SARATOGA SPRINGS — Two people are dead following a vehicle crash on Redwood Road in Utah County Saturday afternoon.
A woman and her "young male passenger" died when the car they were in crossed into oncoming traffic and was hit by a Jeep, according to a statement from the Utah Highway Patrol. The crash happened about 2:20 p.m on near mile marker 12, along the southwest side of Utah Lake.
Troopers say a Hyundai passenger car was southbound on the highway and drifted off to the right side of the road then overcorrected into the northbound lanes. The vehicle was then "T-boned by a Jeep on the passenger side," the UHP statement says.
First responders attempted life-saving measures on the driver of the Hyundai, but she died from her injuries, troopers said. The male passenger in the car was killed on impact.
A woman and a man in the Jeep were both transported to a hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, UHP said.
Names of the deceased were not available Saturday night.
