RIVERDALE — Northbound I-15 has been reopened in Riverdale after a series of crashes early Thursday, officials said.

The first crash happened at the I-15 junction with I-84, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden. A secondary crash then occurred with five cars on I-15 near 4400 South in Riverdale.

One person was taken to a hospital. Troopers described the injuries as minor.

While the road remained closed for several hours, troopers diverted traffic from the right freeway shoulder.
