ST. GEORGE — A fatal shooting over the weekend at a home where police say three people were involved in a mutual intimate relationship has resulted in criminal charges.

KC Steven Comer, 30, of St. George, was charged Monday in 5th District Court with murder, a first-degree felony; possession of a weapon with intent to assault, a class A misdemeanor; and firing a gun in city limits, a class B misdemeanor.

About 7:30 a.m. Saturday, police were called to 805 S. Dixie Drive on a report of a shooting. Officers arrived to find Ryan Allen, 37, dead of gunshot wounds.

"When (officers) entered the residence, they found Ryan deceased in his master bathroom with what appeared to be several traumatic injuries and multiple spent bullet casings in the vicinity of the bathroom," according to a police booking affidavit.

Comer, who had allegedly called 911 to report that he had shot someone, was taken to police headquarters for questioning.

"During the interview, KC admitted to having heard what he believed to be his wife and Ryan arguing in Ryan's bathroom. KC believed Ryan to be suicidal and armed with a gun," the affidavit states.

At that point, Comer got his own gun from a bedroom closet, loaded it, "and determined that he was going to kill Ryan," according to the affidavit filed in court.

Comer walked into the bathroom and started shooting at Allen, according to police.

"KC was unsure how many times he discharged his weapon, but stated he continued to fire until Ryan stopped moving," according to the affidavit, which does not indicate whether a second gun was found.

According to police, Comer, Comer's wife and Allen "had been living together and in a mutually intimate relationship since approximately November."
