PARADISE, Cache County — A person was taken to a hospital after an alleged home-invasion robbery, high-speed chase and an officer-involved shooting Tuesday in Cache County.
A male intruder broke into a Wellsville home armed with an AR-15 rifle, demanded keys and fled with a stolen van, according to a news release from Cache County Sheriff D. Chad Jensen.
After the homeowners reported the robbery, sheriff's deputies located the van and attempted to stop it, Jensen said. But the driver fled, causing a high-speed pursuit from Wellsville through Nibley and into Paradise where the officer-involved shooting occurred, the release says.
Further details about the shooting were not immediately available.
The driver who was shot was transported to Logan Regional Hospital, Jensen said. His name and age were not released Tuesday, and his medical condition is unknown.
