OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- A man charged in the shooting deaths of two women in Ogden is facing a new charge of beating another inmate in a medical holding cell.
Jacob Daniel Ethridge, 31, was charged Monday in 2nd District Court with assault by a prisoner. The new charge accuses him of attacking the inmate Oct. 23 while waiting to be examined by nurses at the Weber County Jail.
Ethridge is charged with aggravated murder in the deaths of Teresa Tingey, 43, and Rosanna Cruz, 25, in July. Ogden police said the women, who worked as prostitutes, were shot after being solicited by Ethridge. He is due in court for a preliminary hearing in that case in January.
Ethridge's attorney did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press on Wednesday.
