CLEVELAND (AP) — A second grand jury in Texas has declined to indict new Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by 22 women and still faces civil lawsuits. The decision was announced shortly after Watson arrived in Cleveland today to meet his new team. While Watson was undergoing a physical and meeting with Browns coaches, the grand jury in Brazoria County, Texas, was listening to evidence. It later announced it had found none to charge the three-time Pro Bowler with any crimes. Brazoria County District Attorney Tom Selleck said the matter is closed. Twenty-two massage therapists have accused Watson of sexual assault and harassment in lawsuits.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed with wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling on a $30 million, three-year contract to help replace the departed Tyreek Hill. That's according to a person familiar with the contract who told The Associated Press the deal was pending a physical. The move came one day after the Chiefs traded Hill, a three-time All-Pro and one of the league's most dangerous downfield threats, to the Dolphins for a package of five draft picks. It also comes less than a week after the Chiefs landed JuJu Smith-Schuster with a club-friendly one-year deal in the hopes that he'll bounce back from a shoulder injury.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A person with direct knowledge of the decision tells The Associated Press that Bills offensive lineman Ryan Bates has agreed to sign an offer sheet with the Chicago Bears. The move puts Buffalo in a position to have to match Chicago's offer or lose the third-year player without compensation. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the discussions are private. The Chicago Tribune first reported the move earlier in the day. The Bills last week retained the restricted free agent's rights by tendering Bates a one-year, $2.4 million contract offer.

UNDATED (AP) — The Washington Commanders are bringing back tackle Cornelius Lucas in the latest move to solidify the offensive line in front of new quarterback Carson Wentz. The veteran lineman spent the past two seasons with Washington. He started 15 games and appeared in 29 over that time. Lucas returns to a line that now includes Andrew Norwell in Ereck Flowers' old spot at left guard. Washington signed Norwell in free agency from Jacksonville. 2020 All-Pro right guard Brandon Scherff left to sign with the Jaguars after playing the past two seasons on the franchise tag.

UNDATED (AP) — Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo (YOH'-nuhs kohr-pih-SAH'-loh) requires hip surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. The 27-year-old is expected to make a full recovery in six months. Korpisalo, who is in the last year of a two-year contract, was expected to be one of the players Columbus would trade before the deadline. Elvis Merlikins and rookie Jean-Francois Berube are expected to carry the load the rest of the season. The seven-year veteran had a 7-11 record in 22 games with a career-worst .877 save percentage.
