SALT LAKE CITY — Celebrating 35 years since its original show, the organizers behind the Salt Lake City Twilight Concert Series hope this summer's lineup will help draw people back to downtown Salt Lake City and help businesses impacted by COVID-19 over the past few years.

The Salt Lake City Arts Council on Monday unveiled this year's lineup highlighted by Rainbow Kitten Surprise, the Wild Hearts Tour (Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen and Julien Baker), The Decemberists, Cuco and Shakey Graves, with appearances at the Gallivan Center between July 14 and Sept. 2.

Season tickets went on sale immediately, while individual tickets will go on sale Tuesday. Season tickets range from $50 for individual admission tickets to all of the events to $200 for VIP season tickets. Individual general admission concert tickets are $10 and VIP tickets for individual concerts are $50.

"The 2022 Twilight Concert Series features a lineup which is diverse, exciting, and is sure to be a season with something for everyone, contributing to the vibrancy and vitality of Salt Lake City and making it the best place to live, work and play," said Felicia Baca, the executive director of the Salt Lake City Arts Council, in a statement.

The concert series has changed locations a few times over the past 35 years but has always focused on community-building and engagement, according to the council. That may be as important as ever now, as Utah shifts into its "steady state" of pandemic recovery.

Members of the city's arts council say the series will help support the local "creative economy" of musicians who will join the list of headline artists. They also hope that it draws people from all over Utah and nearby states to restaurants, bars, venues and other businesses in downtown Salt Lake City.

"This year, we will celebrate 35 years in supporting a sense of belonging to local communities and attracting attendees from all over Utah and neighboring states," Baca added.

2022 Twilight Concert Series lineup (more artists to be announced later):

  • July 14: Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Houndmouth and Dad Bod
  • Aug. 6: Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten, Julien Baker and Spencer
  • Aug. 11: The Decemberists, Brigid Mae Power
  • Aug. 16: Cuco
