1. Avalanche breaks in backcountry of Millcreek Canyon; no injuries reported
A large avalanche broke Sunday afternoon in a popular backcountry area up Millcreek Canyon. Trent Meisenheiner, an avalanche forecaster with the Utah Avalanche Center, said it occurred on top of Little Water Peak on a run called Fire Water. The avalanche was described as approximately to 12 feet deep and a few hundred feet wide.
2. 2 missing; survivors count blessings after Colorado fire
Search teams looked for two missing people on Sunday in the snow-covered but still smoldering debris from a massive Colorado wildfire, while people who barely escaped the flames sorted through what was left after the blaze and investigators tried to determine its cause.
3. Police: Man arrested in Salt Lake County after fleeing, crashing car into a field
A man was arrested Friday evening after police say he led officers on a high-speed chase, ran a red light and hit a patrol vehicle.
4. Number of New Year's Eve DUI arrests lower than normal in 2022
The Utah Highway Patrol saw one of the busiest nights of the season Friday night. Law enforcement arrested 19 impaired drivers statewide overnight — that includes all police agencies, not just the highway patrol. But that's only half the number of arrests from the previous year. Although, they're awaiting the final tally.
5. Happy New ... baby? Family welcomes 1st baby born at Utah Intermountain hospital in 2022
While others were partying and welcoming in the new year, Bethany and Scott England found themselves suddenly preparing to welcome the first baby born in 2022 at a Utah Intermountain hospital.

1. C.J. Stroud's 6 TDs rally No. 6 Buckeyes past Utah in wild Rose Bowl game
The Heisman Trophy finalist, who finished fourth in the overall voting, threw for 573 yards and six touchdowns with one interception, and Noah Ruggles drilled a 19-yard field goal with nine seconds left in the game to help the Buckeyes rally past Utah 48-45 in a wild Rose Bowl game for the ages.
2. Patrick Kinahan: Losing Rose Bowl doesn't mar Utah's incredible accomplishments
The point here is to praise a team that persevered through typical and also rather severe obstacles this season. No doubt about it, this season was unlike any in program history.
3. 'Tip your hat': Steph Curry's dagger helps lift Warriors over Jazz
Coming off a sprint from the corner, Curry caught a pass, turned right and shot a 3-pointer over the outstretched hands of Royce O'Neale and Donovan Mitchell. It was absurd enough that he was able to get squared up and get a clean shot off. It was just sheer ridiculous that it went in.
That 3-pointer with 1:26 left in the game helped bury the Jazz on Saturday.
4. 'It's time for me to move on,' BYU QB Baylor Romney says in goodbye message
Romney announced on New Year's Eve that he has played his final snaps for the Cougars.
5. Oregon scores 50 points in second half to hand Runnin' Utes consecutive losses
Richardson scored 23 of his 26 points — including four of his five 3-pointers — to go along with five rebounds and three assists in the second half, and the Ducks used a 50-31 blitz through the second half to blow past Utah 79-66 Saturday night at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon.
