SALT LAKE CITY — Troopers have identified a Box Elder County woman killed Tuesday morning after a crash in Logan Canyon.

About 8 a.m., Brekel K. Kanno, 29, of Honeyville, was driving a Dodge Caravan east on U.S. 89 when she lost control of the vehicle and hit the barrier on both sides of the highway before spinning into a westbound Ford F-350, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

The Ford hit the passenger side of the Dodge, troopers said. Kanno died at the scene.

A child in the Dodge was taken to a hospital with injuries described as serious, but troopers said they did not appear life-threatening.

The driver of the Ford was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers said they were investigating road conditions as a contributor to the crash.
