THE FIELD — I tried to think of some story from my incredibly mediocre life that would set up this video well. Some amazing feat of athleticism that saved me from certain ruin. Some amazing acrobatics that kept me from certain danger. But my athleticism is legendary for all the wrong reasons, and the only acrobatics I've ever performed were completely by accident and usually resulted in injury.

What I'm saying is, I've got nothing.

But I don't need anything, because this video is awesome and needs no buildup.

According to the YouTube description, Danny Carter has been training golden eagles for years and was out with two of his birds in Lincolnshire, in the United Kingdom, when one of the eagles spotted a hare and decided it was time for lunch. The bird went for the hare, but that jackrabbit was not ready to give up. That little guy took off and showed off his speed. But the eagle was getting incredibly close and swooped in for the kill. But much to the surprise of the bird of prey, the hare stopped on a dime, leaped in the air, did some crazy backflip — totally confusing the bird.

Well done, little hare. That was an amazing getaway and it's the most exciting thing I've seen in awhile.
