MILFORD, Beaver County — Two people died when the car they were in hit a building in Milford Monday night.
The deceased have since been identified as Misty Henrie, 47, and Stephen Polanshek, 41. Both were both residents of Milford, according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol .
The car and a motorcycle were northbound on Main Street near 400 South at a high rate of speed when the drivers of both vehicles lost control about 9:30 p.m., the release says. The car spun, hit a light pole and a building before coming to rest in the southbound lane.
The motorcycle crashed just south of the car and landed in the northbound lane.
Henrie and Polanshek were in the car and died at the scene. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Speed and impairment may have contributed to the crash, according to troopers who also said it appears neither Henrie nor Polanshek was wearing a seat belt.
