Gobert, Ingles, Clarkson, Snyder all named finalists for NBA awards

SALT LAKE CITY — Having the No. 1 record in the NBA naturally comes with some individual recognition.

On Thursday, the NBA announced the finalists for its end-of-season awards, with three Jazz players and their coach up for awards. The finalists represent the three top vote getters for the respected awards.

Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson are two of the three finalists for Sixth Man of the Year, along with New York's Derrick Rose.

Rudy Gobert is the favorite to win his third Defensive Player of the Year award in four seasons over Philadelphia's Ben Simmons and Golden State's Draymond Green, who are the other finalists.

Rounding out Utah's candidates is Jazz head coach Quin Snyder. He joins Phoenix's Monty Williams and New York's Tom Thibodeau as the finalists for the NBA's Coach of the Year.

Coach of the Year

Rookie of the Year

  • LaMelo Ball, Charlotte
  • Anthony Edwards, Minnesota
  • Tyrese Haliburton, Sacramento

Most Improved Player

  • Jerami Grant, Detroit
  • Michael Porter Jr., Denver
  • Julius Randle, New York
