SALT LAKE CITY — Police responded to a business located at 2215 N. Redwood Road after a caller said that a "mechanic had been run over and crushed in the parking lot."

Police received the call about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday and responded. Emergency responders declared the man dead at the scene, said Salt Lake police officer Keith Horrocks.

The caller indicated that the man was a mechanic at the business, but police had not confirmed that. The death is being investigated as an industrial accident since it occurred on private property with a possible employee, Horrocks said.

The man's identity was not released.
