BEAVER — Both northbound and southbound lanes of travel on I-15 have been reopened north of Beaver on Friday after multivehicle crashes forced their closure earlier in snowy road conditions.
Southbound I-15 north of Beaver was reopened around 5:10 p.m. Friday and drivers were warned to expect intermittent stops as crews clear accidents and slide-offs. The northbound lanes of I-15 remain closed until around 7:15, according to UHP trooper Beau Mason.
"Our Southern Utah Troopers sure have been busy the last couple hours clearing crashes due to a fast moving storm that came in," UHP posted on Facebook just before 8:15 p.m. "Luckily there were no serious injuries with the multiple slides offs, crashes or rollovers involved."
Southbound near Cove Fort is still struggling due to semis spun out. The construction zone leading up to it isn't helping to facilitate resources getting there. Still working on it and we are aware many people are stuck in it.

Mason warned drivers to drive slowly and be aware of spun-out semitrucks and other hazards still present on the road. Mason also said that Cove Fort traffic continued to be slow due to hazards present on the road.
The number of vehicles involved in the multivehicle crashes was not immediately available.
Southbound traffic is getting through. @UTHighwayPatrol & @UDOTTRAFFIC now have Northbound cleared enough that we are opening the freeway. There are still spun out semis, crashes, and other hazards so please be careful and keep your speeds slow.

Utah Highway Patrol officials tweeted that they were waiting on further details regarding the crashes and advised drivers in the area to slow down and wear their seat belts.
The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings and advisories for many parts of Utah on Friday, upgrading some areas of southwest Utah along with a wind advisory issued for the northern Wasatch Front. The National Weather Service said a band of snow will continue to affect the I-15 corridor Friday afternoon.
