THE RANGE — Close your eyes and take a trip with me back in time.
Imagine plaid and Doc Martins for as far as the eye could see. Girbaud jeans robbing kids of their hard-earned money and Rollerblades were on every kid's wish list. The year was 1997. I was a chubby 14-year-old and owned "Happy Gilmore" on VHS and had watched it no less than 400 times. Not to mention, Tiger Woods was now a superstar and had just won his first major championship. Put those things together, and golfing was suddenly really cool — I mean, really cool.
For anyone around at that time, especially teenagers like me, golf was the cool new thing. We all wanted to be the next Tiger as we tried the Happy Gilmore swing at the par-3 course near our house.
I started golfing a lot, finding every piece of loose change I could to try and cover the green fee. I had a set of clubs my mom had bought in the '70s, which meant the woods were literally made out of wood.
I was terrible. Absolutely terrible. But that didn't stop me. I wanted to be a golfer, and I kept going out over and over again. Fast forward 23 years and I'm still golfing and I'm still terrible. Absolutely terrible.
Golf is not my sport, but it hasn't stopped me from throwing my money away and trying that Happy swing once and again. Well, there is a new swing I may need to try: this one.
Move over Happy Gilmore, we have a new golf swing in town 🏌️♂️

This guy does a full one-handed windmill with the driver and absolutely crushes the ball straight as an arrow. I mean, it's incredible. This dude is messing around and does this!
I set up a drive for an hour and I still duff it 12 feet in front of me and somehow 800 yards to the right — and I've been working on it.
Man, I really hate golf. With the said, however, I'm going to wrap this up so I can head to the range. Who knows? Maybe it's finally my time to figure this thing out.
