SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Fire Department was called on Saturday for a water rescue from the Jordan River Surplus Canal.

That's where fire department officials said a semi-tractor trailer left the roadway and ended up in the water.

Salt Lake City fire says the driver of the truck was removed from the cab safely.

And because there was fluid from the vehicle that got into the water, the Utah Department of Health has been notified. The fluid from the truck was not immediately identified by Salt Lake City Fire.
