PALMYRA, Utah County — Officials on Sunday identified the 12-year-old boy who died in a tragic family accident Saturday in rural Utah County.
George Dunbar Oldham was run over by farming equipment after he fell off his bike, authorities said.
The accident happened about 3:32 p.m. near 4600 South and 1450 West in the Palmyra area west of Springville and Spanish Fork, according to Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon.
Cannon said the boy's father was driving a side-by-side vehicle and towing a trailer while his sons rode bicycles nearby. Oldham "fell, somehow, and ended up getting run over."
Officials aren't sure if the boy was hit by the off-road vehicle or the trailer, but he sustained a "serious head injury."
"They did make some efforts to revive him there at the scene," Cannon said, "but he was pronounced deceased there."

The incident is under investigation. Oldham's body will be taken to the state Office of the Medical Examiner.
"The family is grateful for the support of the community," Cannon wrote Sunday, "but wishes to have privacy as they grieve."
