DELTA — A Grantsville man died early Friday morning in a crash south of Delta, authorities said.

The crash happened around 4:20 a.m. on state Route 257 about 17 miles south of Delta, according to a news release from the Utah Department of Public Safety.

The driver, later identified as Daniel C. Bliven, 32, was southbound in a white 2004 Ford F250 when he approached a gradual left turn in the roadway but went off the right side of the road, the release said. Bliven overcorrected back to the left, crossing both lanes of traffic and going off the left side of the road.

The truck then rolled several times and Bliven was ejected from the car, according to the release. Bliven, who was the only person in the truck, died at the scene.

High speed and impairment are being investigated as possible factors for the crash. No further information about the crash was immediately available.
