OREM — The Utah High School Activities Association wrapped up the beginning of the winter sports championships this week with titles award at the state drill competition, beginning Feb. 3-4 in the state's top two classifications at Utah Valley University.
Bingham clinched its second-straight 6A title and ninth overall since the UHSAA began coordinating drill competition in 1983. The title ties the Miners for the fifth winningest program in state history with the most titles in 6A. Bountiful's 21 championships lead all schools, followed by Duchesne (15), South Sevier (12) and Panguitch (11). Bingham is tied with Uintah, whose nine championships have also come since 2000.
The Miners swept all three categories of military, dance and show to run away with first overall. Copper Hills and Layton, which finished second in military and show respectively, rounded out the top three.

Class 5A
Farmington also won back-to-back titles in 5A, after the Phoenix soared to first place in dance and show and placed second in military.
Viewmont won military and placed second in dance and show to easily finish second, followed by Spanish Fork, Bountiful and Brighton.

Class 4A
Dixie won its second consecutive state title Feb. 9-10 and fourth since 2016 with victories in military and dance, and a second-place finish in show.
Desert Hills won show and placed second in the other two categories, with Logan (military) and Ridgeline (dance, show) coming in third.

Class 3A
South Sevier swept all three categories Feb. 9-10 to clinch its eighth consecutive title and 12th overall. It's the ninth title for coach Kelly Barton, tied for the third-most by a single coach in UHSAA drill history.
North Sanpete was runner-up in military and dance to place second overall, and third-place South Summit was second in show.

Class 2A
Enterprise placed first in military and dance, as well as second in show, to clinch the first state championship in program history at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield.
Kanab, which won show, finished second in military and dance to clinch runner-up status overall ahead of unanimous third-place Monticello.
