LOGAN — A man once convicted of sexually abusing a juvenile in Idaho has been arrested in Utah and accused of new crimes.

Bradley Drew Sorenson, 55, of Logan, was charged Thursday in 1st District Court with nine counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and enticing a minor, all second-degree felonies; and dealing in harmful materials to a minor, a third-degree felony.

The investigation into Sorenson began in November when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip from Facebook that a nude image was exchanged on Facebook messenger between an account registered to a 15-year-old boy and another account registered to a 55-year-old man, according to charging documents.

It was also reported to police that Sorenson sent the boy a message stating, "I wish you were here, I'd teach you some things," the charges state.

The boy told Sorenson he was only 15, according to the charges. Logan police served a warrant on the Facebook accounts and reported finding more sexually explicit messages and images.

Police went to Sorenson's apartment on Tuesday to question him. When advised of his rights, "Bradley stated he 'knows his rights,'" according to the charges.

Investigators noted in the court documents that in the messages exchanged between Sorenson and the boy, "Bradley never indicated from the messages he wanted the conversation to end or mentioned how it was inappropriate. Bradley encouraged this behavior."

In 2004, Sorenson was convicted in Idaho of sexually abusing a juvenile.
