SALT LAKE CITY — High winds blew into parts of northern Utah early Tuesday, apparently toppling several trees and prompting a warning for drivers along I-15.
The impacted areas run from the northern Salt Lake Valley into Davis, Weber and Box Elder counties.
A High Wind Warning was in effect for Davis and Weber counties, with gusts over 50 mph recorded near Kaysville and Centerville. Overnight wind peaks hit up to 65 mph, with a gust of 69 mph in Farmington, the National Weather Service tweeted.
The wind advisory remained in effect until 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Schools affected
School and bus service were delayed two hours in the Weber School District due to power outages and safety concerns, the district tweeted. Classes in the Ogden School District will operate on regular schedules.

Commute
The Utah Department of Transportation issued an emergency alert for drivers along I-15 near Park Lane in Farmington and in Honeyville due to high winds.
A semitruck tipped over on I-15 north of Brigham City, according to the KSL NewsRadio Traffic Center. Light vehicles and high-profile vehicles were prohibited on I-15 between mileposts 369 and 371, just south of Honeyville, due to high winds. As of 10:30 a.m., the restriction was no longer in effect.
UDOT reported a crash in the restriction area just after 9 a.m. Northbound lanes of I-15 were closed temporarily near Honeyville but as of 10:30 a.m., the area was cleared.
Gusts near the state Route 240 junction in Honeyville have been reported at 50 miles per hour, according to UDOT. Gusts of 50 miles per hour have also been reported in Davis County on I-15 at Park Lane in Farmington.
Elsewhere, there were no major traffic delays on I-15 along the Wasatch Front as of 8 a.m.
Other impacts
