WEST VALLEY CITY — A 19-year-old man was shot and injured early Sunday in a parking lot just west of the USANA Amphitheatre, police said.

About 5:30 a.m., the man's girlfriend brought him to a hospital with one gunshot wound after the shooting in the parking lot near 5200 S. 6400 West, said West Valley Police Sgt. John Pittman.

Pittman said the man is in "very stable condition" but will require surgery after he is transferred to another hospital.

"He was able to describe where it happened," Pittman said. "He does not know who shot him, and as of right now we do not have any leads or suspect information."

Additional information about the man's injuries was not released.

Investigators were searching for evidence in the parking lot Sunday morning. There was no security video from the scene, Pittman said.

The sergeant did not say why the man and his girlfriend were in the parking lot at that time.

Correction: An earlier version incorrectly said the shooting occurred in the USANA Amphitheatre parking lot but it occurred in a lot west of the venue.
