BEAVER — A new fire start forced evacuations in the area of the Eagle Point Ski Resort on Monday afternoon, fire officials reported through Utah Fire Info.
The estimated 7- to 10-acre blaze, named the 3 Creeks Fire, began burning along state Route 153 about 5 p.m. and fire officials asked the public to avoid the area.
An evacuation order was in place Monday evening for the Big John Flat area, Eagle Point Ski Resort and the surrounding communities, fire officials said.

State Route 153 was closed from the Kent’s Lake Turnoff to Puffer Lake and no structures had been lost as of 9:10 p.m.
The fire began in a fuels treatment area within dead slash piles which could not be burned earlier due to COVID-19, according to fire officials.
Federal and state fire crews were fighting the blaze Monday evening.
