TOOELE — A man convicted of unlawful sexual contact with a girl he met on a dating app faces new charges for allegedly raping another girl he met on the same app, according to prosecutors.

Franchessco Abi Lucar, 37, of Provo, was charged Wednesday in Tooele County’s 3rd District Court with five counts of rape of a child and sodomy of a child, all first-degree felonies, and enticing a minor, a second-degree felony.

Lucar was convicted in April 2019 of unlawful sexual conduct with a 17-year-old after prosecutors say he posed as a 19-year-old on the dating app “Meet Me.” He was sentenced to a year in jail with credit for time served.

Investigators have since learned that Lucar also communicated with a 13-year-old girl in 2018 who he met on the same app, according to charging documents.

“She informed the detective that they had met up approximately 15 times in the following three months,” the charges state.

Lucar was required to register with the Utah Sex Offender Registry following his 2019 conviction.
